Design Challenge!
Create an innovative design for the development of a net-zero community that reduces and/or offsets greenhouse gas emissions. Apply your learning from the STEAM PEI Sustainable Energy Integrated Curriculum, and submit your ideas for a chance to win $1000 for your class!

Step 1: Complete the STEAM PEI Community Design Activity
(Re) introduce yourself to net-zero concepts outlined by STEAM PEI through their “Sustainable Energy Integrated Curriculum” Program. Complete Lessons 8 - 10 offered by STEAM PEI, designing a net-zero community with your class!
Step 3: Share with your Community
Share your net-zero design on social media, with your family and in your school community (Lesson 10). Tag us @GreenLearning on social media!
Step 4: Enter the Challenge
Submissions for the 2023/2024 school year open January 1, 2024
- Complete one Challenge Entry Form for your class (found in Challenge Packages, as provided in Step 2)
- One Media Release Form per individual in any photos or videos you send in showing an individual’s face (found in Challenge Packages, as provided in Step 2)
- Each class can submit up to 5 net-zero designs and corresponding models for judging.

Step 5: Celebrate Net-Zero Learning
Winners of the Net-Zero Community Design Challenge will be announced online in early June, 2024.
